What started with the groundbreaking days of Quake, Fallout 1 & 2, Diablo, and EverQuest has evolved into a lifelong passion. For three decades, I’ve been exploring virtual worlds, from those first revolutionary multiplayer experiences to today’s sprawling open universes. While my gaming hours might be more precious now than they were during those marathon EverQuest raids, my enthusiasm for games – especially RPGs and the modding scene – has only grown deeper with time.
Where It All Started
The late 90s were a revelation. Quake taught us the thrill of true 3D gaming and multiplayer mayhem. Diablo showed us how addictive the perfect loop of loot and character progression could be. And EverQuest… well, EverQuest showed us just how much sleep we could lose exploring a persistent online world with friends. These weren’t just games – they were the foundations of modern gaming as we know it.
More Than Just Playing
As the games evolved, so did the communities around them. From tweaking Quake configs to perfecting Diablo and Fallout builds, I discovered that half the fun was in optimizing and modifying these experiences. The modding scene opened up entirely new possibilities, turning great games into playgrounds of creativity. Today’s modding communities are more vibrant than ever, creating content that rivals professional releases in quality and scope.
